The company is pleased to experience continued growth and is looking for a key player to join the team as Deconstruction Project Manager (DPM). In this newly created position, the DPM will report directly to the owner and oversee critical components of the operations including: Project Management, Team Supervision and Leadership, Safety and Regulatory Compliance, Quality Control. Also responsible for representing Waste Less Works on bid opportunities to capture work.
Key responsibilities include:
Project Management:
· Manage and oversee the project.
· Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the owner. This includes change orders and adjustments to the project scope.
· Positively represent Waste Less Works to clients and act as a liaison between the client and the Waste Less Works team.
· Drive the processes needed for successful project completion in an organized and consistent manner.
· Thoroughly review, examine and understand drawings, specifications, blueprints or clients’ instructions to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specs before deconstruction/demolition commences.
· Ensure key project milestones and deadlines are met by effectively coordinating resources, materials, and equipment.
· Monitor and document project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures as needed.
· Record keeping of daily progress as well as record keeping of employee function and participation.
Team Supervision and Leadership:
· Provide strong leadership and direction to construction crews ensuring they adhere to project plans, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and skill development.
· Lead the formalization of technical or on-the-job training.
· Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise among team members.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
· Ensure all construction activities are carried out in compliance with local and federal regulations, building codes and safety standards.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Quality Control and Documentation:
· Ensure that all deconstruction activities meet quality standards and comply with project specifications.
· Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to identify and rectify any deficiencies or deviations from project plans.
· Document project activities, progress, and issues, maintaining accurate records and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Handle all interactions with coworkers, subcontractors, clients, the public, etc., in a manner designed to build and maintain long term relationships.
· Coordinate the various aspects of a deconstruction project and be accountable for project deadlines.
· Foster a professional field presence that is a positive reflection of Waste Less Works deconstruction.
· Communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.
· Supervise and manage a crew of 2-10 people by prioritizing, organizing, and delegating tasks.
· Timekeeping and daily field reporting
· Other duties as assigned.
Deconstruction Project Manager - Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, or related field is preferred.
· A Minimum of 5 years of construction experience preferred with two years minimum in a leadership position.
· OSHA Certification is a plus.
· Must have intermediate computer skills to include the Microsoft Office Suite.
· Valid Driver’s license and transportation to/from job sites.
· Commitment to saving waste from the landfill and understanding and appreciating the value of salvage.
· Competently operate company equipment, vehicles, and/or trailers.
· Commitment to quality and cleanliness.
· Need to be able to bend, stoop, crawl, climb and/or kneel throughout the workday to perform required job tasks.
· Need to be able to lift/ carry up to 50lbs to 100lbs.
· Ability to think creatively and problem solve.
· Compliance with safety policies and procedures.
· Adept at working in outdoor conditions (for instance, low/high temperatures, rain, sun, snow, wind, etc)
· Ability to wear a respirator, as job conditions require.
· Small equipment (Bobcat, forklift, boom lift, etc.) experience is a plus.
· Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems preferred.
